Earlier Houses: An earlier Medieval house, Old Bold Hall (the first house; see "Images" section), was situated on a moated site near the 18th century house. It was altered many times over the centuries and was demolished in 1936.

House & Family History: The Palladian style Bold Hall (the second house) sat upon a wealth of minerals, most specifically coal. It was this black gold that led to the destruction of the house and its replacement by the Bold Colliery development in the early 20th century.
Garden & Outbuildings: In the mid-19th century the estate stood at 7,000 acres.
