Danby Hall

  • House & Family History: Colonel Adrian Scrope was a Parliamentarian general during the English Civil War. As a regicide, upon the restoration of Charles II, Col. Scrope was found guilty of treason and hanged, drawn, and quartered at Charing Cross in London on October 17, 1660. Always a Catholic house, Danby Hall has a number of priest holes. And there are seven priests buried under the drawing room floor!
