The Deanery

  • House & Family History: Before the Dissolution of the Monasteries the Deanery was a country house of the priors of Christ Church Priory, Canterbury. The house was used by the deans of Canterbury until the 17th century, when it was sold to Leghorn merchant Anthony Lefroy. There are Medieval frescoes in the hall. In 2023 the house, together with three acres, was listed for sale for £2.75 million.
