Splendors of Saxony: The Architectural Heritage of Leipzig, Meissen & Dresden
June 9 - 16, 2025
Join us for an unforgettable week in Germany’s cultural heart. We’ll begin in vibrant Leipzig, the city where Mendelsohn, Bach, and Wagner all lived. In Meissen we’ll visit the oldest porcelain factory in Europe, while in Dresden (“Florence on the Elbe”) we’ll see breathtaking art, including the treasures of the Green Vault.
When winter beckons and Christmas is just around the corner, spend time with us in England, the country that virtually invented Christmas! We’ll be based at Knowsley Hall, the enormous, art-filled Lancashire country house that has been home to the Stanley family since 1385. Here we will be the only guests of our hosts, the 19th Earl and Countess of Derby. From Knowsley we’ll venture to Liverpool to see Impressionist paintings, ancient Roman sculpture, and the world’s finest Wedgwood in some of England’s best museums.
